Nexus Risk TSA WA Open Round 1
After the 1st round of the TSA Nexus Risk Western Australian Open I have shot a score of 70 (-2) To be T13th. Personally I believe the wind was a little more in the morning than the afternoon with temps touching the 30’s.
Starting on the 1st I hit 5 greens in a row holing one putt for birdie on the 4th from 8m down the hill. Greens are rolling like lightning. Being just off the green by a putter head at 5 and 8 I made pars. Big chance came at the par 5 7th narrowly missing the birdie.
Easy birdie came at 9 on the par 5 before a 2 iron hit right finished on the 17th fairway off the 10th tee. Had to try and punch a shot through a fair gap hitting the right goal post and ending in a worst off position back out on the same fairway. I now had a smaller gap than before as I could not go over the trees. I hit a career low punch under the trees to the front of the green making up and down for bogey but bounced back with a birdie on the 11th.
Par on 12, 13 I drove it into the fairway bunker and hit a great approach to 16m, 3 putting for bogey. Hitting 14, 15 and 17 greens in regulation I made all pars. From the fairway on 16 I did not pick the wind and came up short not making up and down but it was the highlight of the day was making an eagle up the last. 5 iron from the fairway to 4m I rolled in the putt on the 465m par 5.
14 greens and 30 putts today. Teeing off tomorrow for the 2nd round at 12.05pm. Solid start!
